The chill has definitely arrived reminding us that sun-kissed summer skin is well and truly gone. Don’t want to be pasty this winter? No need to fear – Winter Skin is here!
I’ve always been relatively tanned due to having a natural olive complexion however I find in the winter my skin can often lack saturation. Eco Tan is an Australian company certified organic under the Australian Government’s organic and biodynamic standards and is also accredited by Choose Crueltly Free. Their Winter Skin product is a moisturising gradual tan lotion which was gifted to me to trial and review. It uses ingredients such as Cacao (chocolate), Chamomile Flower Extract, Rose Geranium Oil, Aloe Vera & Elderberry Fruit Extract. These are certified organic and natural ingredients. Why would you want to put parabens, alcohol and harmful chemicals on your skin when you can nourish your skin with natures best?!
Aesthetically, I adore the amber apothecary influenced design – and it definitely gives an Eco-friendly vibe despite the packaging being made of plastic instead of the standard glass style. The first application of my Winter Skin begun post-shower but before bed with a pump of lotion which I then lathered into each of my legs. I was a wee bit nervous about marking the stark white sheets during my stay at The Langham however was surprised to I wake up every morning with tinted legs and crisp white sheets – no transfer of colour at all. I was impressed with not only the quality of the product but I was also amazed by the quality of the result! The product is build-able and created a gradual tan with each layer I applied so it’s something that I could use continuously for the duration of winter with frequent re-application. Unlike other moisturiser tans, this product gave an obvious bronzed difference in just one application, no yellow or orange tones like I’ve experienced before! The build-able tan also made it easy to avoid streaky lines and create even distribution – even when I had missed a little necessary exfoliation.
This is the result of two applications of Eco Tan which left me with bronzed legs! I was so pleased with the results I couldn’t wait to slip into a short dress and show off my tanned legs to Auckland!
